About me & the method

I am Johan Frederik Schjødt

A human on a journey to build the most human working life — in the middle of an AI world moving at full speed.

In 2010 I founded AutoUncle together with my brother Niels Kristian and Jonas Bylov, out of Startupbootcamp. I was CEO for almost fifteen years, from three people around a table to 14 consumer markets and around 100 colleagues with headquarters in Aarhus. In 2025 I handed over the CEO seat and today I am co-founder and Chief Business Development Officer. Before AutoUncle I was a consultant at Epinion, and I hold an MBA from Lancaster University on top of a political science degree from Aarhus University.

I have been in it myself: hyper-scaling, hard conversations, funding rounds, a calendar that ate my evenings — and an ambition to build a company that fits whole humans with emotions, ups and downs and big ambitions. At AutoUncle we have called that The Most Human Company. Human Context is the same conviction, turned towards you and your role.

I am not saying this to decorate the story: I have been far past the limit of what I could actually carry. There have been years of drawn-out legal conflict, the prospect of having to close down what we had built, and a pressure I carried around the clock. Along the way I had panic attacks and anxiety, and I had to accept that willpower is not an infinite resource. That experience sits underneath everything I do in Human Context.

I work with senior executives, C-level and startup founders who want to become more competent humans in order to unlock the whole leader. No reporting to the board, no agenda other than yours. Context before content, always.

Outside work

Old cars are my great passion — there is a calm in working with your hands that no calendar can give you. I run orienteering, where you cannot cheat your way to finding the route. I am a father of two, and we have a big goldendoodle who makes sure I get into the forest several times a week, whatever the inbox says.

I have talked about my leadership style on the podcast “Ledelse med kort, kompas og en vision” (in Danish) — episode 14.
