Keep your Human Context in an AI-driven world.
Develop the human within, and the whole leader comes out.
You are scaling a company, implementing AI, sitting in board meetings — and you are still meant to be a parent, a partner and a human being. As the career or the company grows, the human part is usually the first thing deprioritised. And in the end it is exactly your human foundation that becomes the bottleneck for your further growth.
Why Human Context?
Human context is the highest context there is.
Everything else — the strategy, the organisation, the technology — sits inside it. That is why it is where I begin.
“Context before content. We can talk about the decision afterwards — first we talk about the human who has to make it.”
What do I mean by it?
Human context is you. The human. It is the context all your work takes place inside — and the one that typically gets forgotten or deprioritised as you grow in your career, in your leadership role, or as the company goes from startup to scale-up.
Why it is the highest
No strategy is better than the human who has to carry it at four o’clock on a Thursday. Your patience, your judgement, your resources and your patterns set the ceiling for what the organisation can do. That is why human context eventually becomes the bottleneck for your further growth — in your career and in your business. Your human foundation gets in the way and blocks you.
But it does not have to be like this
There is nothing more rewarding than growing as a human at the same pace as the leadership role, the career or the company. It is often said that the journey is the reward. True — but far more so if you prioritise the human context along the way.
How I use it in the coaching
I never start with the problem. I start with the context around it: who you are, what drains and fills you, which patterns keep repeating. Once that context is clear, the content — the decision, the conflict, the strategy — almost always follows. The aim is to develop the human within, so the whole leader can come out.
